At Spa Well, we’re more than just a community—we’re a home for spa professionals seeking connection, inspiration, and growth.  

I’m Sara, the founder of Spa Well.  I’ve been a spa manager and director for hotel spas, I was a revenue manager for Carnival looking after cruise ships spas, and more recently I’ve been a business development manager for a hospitality tech start-up.  After a few years away from the spa industry, in 2024 I decided to come back to the industry I love.

The vision for Spa Well is deeply personal, rooted in my own journey with the transformative power of community. In 2020, during my first pregnancy in the midst of the pandemic, I found myself navigating the unknown, seeking support and understanding. That’s when I joined The Positive Birth Company’s Facebook group—a warm, vibrant space where new parents could share their highs and lows. For the first time, I experienced the magic of peer-to-peer advice and genuine connection with people who truly understood my challenges. Five years later, I’m still part of that community, a testament to its lasting impact.

In 2023, during maternity leave with my second son, I took a leap and started a travel blog. This time, I joined another community, Scale Your Travel Blog, which provided more than just technical guidance. It was a hub of shared learning, with webinars, online meetups, and practical advice that empowered aspiring bloggers like me to grow and succeed. These experiences ignited a passion for peer-led learning and the incredible potential of online communities.

After three years working in tech, I found myself longing to return to the spa and wellness industry—a field I’ve always loved. But something was missing. When I searched for an online community for spa professionals could connect, I came up empty-handed. It felt like a gap in an industry known for its commitment to nurturing others.

That’s why I created Spa Well.
